Ulpan

This year, kick your Hebrew up a notch with Jewish Federation’s Ulpan. Have you always wanted to learn how to speak Hebrew? Or do you want to build on the language skills you already have? Jewish Federation’s Ulpan instructors are ready to help improve your Hebrew language skills, including conversation, comprehension, grammar, reading and writing. Courses are taught at all levels in small, interactive classes. Don’t miss out on your chance to learn how to communicate in the language of our people!

Our Teachers

Pirhia Rozman

Pirhia graduated from Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a degree in History and Education. She teaches Hebrew to students in afterschool programs and is also a certified high school teacher. This is Pirhia’s 9th year teaching in Jewish Federation’s Ulpan.

Sandy Dermon

Sandy lived in Israel for 25 years. She graduated from Tel Aviv University with a degree in History and Education. She has been an educator of children and adults for over 25 years. This is Sandy’s 4th year teaching in Jewish Federation’s Ulpan.

Zahava Gall

Zahava has 40 years’ experience as a teacher and principal at area day and Hebrew schools. This is Zahava’s 4th year teaching in Jewish Federation’s Ulpan.

Sofia Rosenberg

Sofia is the New Jersey Program Director for the Council of Jewish Émigré Community Organizations. She holds a degree in Education from Bar Ilan University and an MA in Public Policy from Tel Aviv University. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Jewish History at Touro College. Sofia has broad experience teaching Hebrew to a wide range of age groups. This is her 1st year teaching in Jewish Federation’s Ulpan.
