Ulpan

Have you always wanted to learn how to speak Hebrew? Do you want to build on the language skills you already have? Federation’s Ulpan instructors are ready to help you improve your Hebrew language skills, including conversation, comprehension, grammar, reading and writing. For students who have no previous knowledge of Hebrew.

Please Note

  • Aleph - Advanced classes meet for 1½ hours once a week for 28 weeks, beginning the week of September 12.
  • Grammar classes meet for one hour once a week for 28 weeks, beginning the week of September 12.
  • Tuition includes a registration fee of $75. Tuition, less the registration fee, is refundable until November 3, after which the entire amount is non-refundable.
  • Tuition does not include the textbook.
  • Classes will only be offered where there is a minimum of seven students per class.

 

Our Teachers

 

Sandy Dermon

Sandy lived in Israel for 25 years. She graduated from Tel Aviv University with a degree in history and education. She has been an educator of children and adults for over 25 years. This is Sandy’s 3rd year teaching in Federation’s Ulpan.

 

Zahava Gall

Zahava has 40 years’ experience as a teacher and principal at area day and Hebrew schools. She is currently teaching history, Hebrew and Judaic studies, and Hebrew literature to grades one through high school at Nitzanim Israeli School, as well as at an Israeli language and cultural after-school program for grades K-9. This is Zahava’s 3rd year teaching in Federation’s Ulpan

 

Pirhia Rozman

Pirhia graduated from Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a  degree in History and Education. She teaches Hebrew to students in afterschool programs and Ulpan classes at the JCC of Manhattan. She is also a certified high school teacher. This is Pirhia’s 8th year teaching in Federation’s Ulpan
