Hate Has No Place – A Communitywide Forum

October 29, 2019: 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Presented by Bergen Indivisible for Democracy

With growing concern about the dramatic rise in acts of hate, both locally and nationally, we invite you to participate in this vital open forum, featuring a panel of esteemed community leaders who will engage in an insightful dialogue regarding issues of hate directed toward Jews, Muslims, African Americans, Hispanics, and other ethnic and minority groups. They will also share their thoughts on what we in our communities can do to make a difference in addressing these virulent issues. The discussion will conclude with an interactive Q&A with the audience.

Panel includes:

  • Mohammed Hameeduddin, Mayor of Teaneck
  • Jared Maples, Director, NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness
  • Pastor Gil Monrose, Director/Founder, Faith-Based & Clergy Initiatives, Brooklyn Borough President Office
  • Lisa Harris Glass, Chief Planning Officer, Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey

The panel will be moderated by Evan Bernstein, New York /New Jersey Regional Director, Anti-Defamation League, and will include a Welcome and introduction by Lori Sackler, BID President and Founder, and comments by Rabbi David Seth Kirshner, Rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, Closter, and President of the NY Board of Rabbis.
