This week we’ve begun to recover.
If you want to help, here’s how you can do it.
Donate
Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey has created the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund to help those whose lives were disrupted by the devastating storm. 100% of all donations will be used for aid.
Volunteer
To help in the clean-up and rebuilding efforts register to volunteer. You must be 16 years of age or older.
Ask for Help
Jewish Federation’s Bonim Builders is working with Nechama, a national non-profit Jewish disaster response organization as well as with other New Jersey Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOADs) to address requests for volunteer assistance for storm-related home/property clean up – tree work, flooded structure and/or debris removal.
If you came through Sandy having sustained disruption to life and/or business, here’s information you need to know:

Filing Insurance Claims after Storm
If you have any questions about insurance coverage in your policy, or if you need help with a problem regarding your claim, contact the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, 800 446-7467 www.dobi.nj.gov.
We’re updating our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/JFedNNJ and our Twitter feed www.twitter.com\jfnnj frequently with information as we get it.
If you need help, please call the Nechama Hotline – 201-399-2012. Leave your name, phone number, information on the nature of the damage (tree work, flooded structure, or debris removal). Someone from Nechama will get back to you. If Nechama is unable to respond to your request, the information will be shared with other faith based/voluntary organizations experienced in disaster relief who may have additional resources.
Jewish Federation and our community centers are in the process of organizing a collection of food (non-perishable please), baby basics, and cleaning supplies. We will send you more information as we have it.
