The Traditionalist Table

Monday, April 23

Rounding out its Table for 4 series on the four adult generations in our synagogues today, the Synagogue Leadership Initiative held a program that focused on the needs of the traditionalists. Sometimes known as the “Greatest Generation,” and also characterized as “seekers,” they were the builders of our sacred community. They dreamed big and got things done. Speaking about the polar differences of those who are learning and enjoying life and those who are dealing with illness and loss were Judy Beck and Karen Frank, RN. Judy is the past SLI Director and current senior community strategist for JFNNJ. She is also CEO of Judy Beck and Associates (JBA), which offers womb to tomb programming and consultations to individuals and organizations. The Jewish Grandparent Connection is a constituent program of JBA. Karen is a Congregational Nurse and the Director of Project SHIN (Spiritual Healing Integrating Nursing). She serves as the pastoral nurse for many local synagogues and advises individuals and families facing the challenge of health, aging, or lifestyle changes.
