Participate in a Cancer Prevention Study

Here is an opportunity to work with the American Cancer Society. To better understand ways to prevent cancer, the American Cancer Society is recruiting men and women across the US and Puerto Rico for a landmark research study – Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). Participants will be able to sign up at Holy Name Medical Center or Hackensack University Medical Center.

Friendly visitors are needed to provide weekly visits for Jewish Family Service of North Jersey clients who benefit from companionship, socialization and connection with a caring community member.
Volunteers are needed to deliver kosher meals one or two days a week to homebound isolated seniors in Fair Lawn, Elmwood Park, and Wayne.

Help at the Paterson Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Wayne

Continue to assist with hurricane relief 
Volunteers are needed to assist NECHAMA on weekdays, Monday through Friday, and also on Sundays. The work will include cleaning out damage from Sandy’s flood waters and removing sheetrock and other water-damaged items at various locations in the area. Volunteers must be 16 years of age and older. Wear boots, pants, sweatshirt, and dress in layers. Tools and safety equipment will be provided. Bring work gloves, water, and a brown bag lunch.
