Transforming Synagogues...
Building Community...
Creating a Dynamic Jewish Future
The Synagogue Leadership Initiative (SLI), a project of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey in partnership with the Henry and Marilyn Taub Foundation, works with synagogue leaders to transform synagogues, build communities, and to create a dynamic Jewish future.
SLI’s goal is to build the capacity of constituent synagogues to meet the spiritual, educational, and social needs and interests of their congregants now and in the future. SLI provides to synagogue leaders, lay and professional, an array of seminars, capacity building workshops, affinity group meetings, and individualized consulting.
SLI helps congregations follow their dreams so that they can be the most inspiring, sustaining centers of Jewish living possible. We want to make it possible for each Jewish person in our community to find a spiritual and communal connection in a congregation.
The 2012-13 Synagogue Leadership Development opportunities focuses on three main areas: INNOVATION and CHANGE, FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY and ALTERNATIVE MODELS OF DUES/AFFILIATION, and LEADERSHIP.
SLI also provides:
Affinity Groups for Synagogue Executive Directors/Administrators;
Presidents; and Rabbis
Professional Development Activities for Synagogue Staff and Volunteers
